StopperStimmung™ was invented in 1988 by german master piano maker Bernhard Stopper and is a slightly altered tuning. The recently discovered symmetry inherent in StopperStimmung™ creates an outstanding sound on your guitar. The compromise of tempering dissappears by interference when playing chords, making them sounding like pure tuned! Unless your fretboard has no serious built in faults, you will get clear and full chords from your guitar in all chord combinations. The algorithm adapts to nonlinearities of string instruments, and therefore it can deal with strings of different materials (steel, nylon). Until now, a professional artist could outperform all guitar tuners available on the market (software or hardware) by ear tuning. When listening to StopperStimmung™ performed with the Tunic® tuner for the first time, they usually confirm that their instrument never sounded so full, warm, rich and clean. The tuner is very simple to use: Start the tuner, select the note to tune, and try to match the two pointers until there are no more gaps between the pointers. The yellow pointer is for coarse tuning (+-100 cent) and the green pointer for fine tuning. The difference to standard tuning is smaller then most other tuners can measure, so the difference mainly improves the sound and quality of the instrument, but does not affect compatibility. - Q: When i tune with Tunic® the instrument sounds really great, but when i measure with my old tuner, i can see no big difference -A: Do it the other way: Tune with the old tuner and measure with Tunic®, then you will see (and more important: hear) huge differences. Many tuners work in a resolution range of 5 cent and Tunic® goes down to 0.04 cent, that means an increase in accuracy of factor 100! Additionally, the adaption to string nonlinearities introduces fine corrections similar to ear-tuning. Hints: - Warm up the strings of your guitar before tuning, by touching the strings for one or two minutes with your right hand, were you pluck the strings. (You will see a noticeable difference specially on the higher strings) - Tune your guitar always with 2-4 cycles. Each change of a string will have influence to the other strings. In noisy environments, pluck the string with faster repetitions. Mute the strings that are not to be tuned with your fingers. You draw a card and follow the strategy blindly by applying it obliquely to your problem. Please note the limitations below before you purchase/use this application. - The frequency control is not effective with the white noise oscillator. - The panning control is not effective with an iPhone internal speaker because it is monophonic. Use headphones or stereo speakers. - The audio output might be interrupted on a keyboard input, a view change and so on. - The accuracy of the audio output is not very high but it is reasonable.
