Our take: Fotomatic is actually a very nice slideshow application but at this time is still very buggy. The software makes it easy and fun to import photos both from your own online collections as well as albums from others on photo sharing sites. For example, last night I was playing with the application and decided to view pictures of other West Highland Terriers. I typed in "Westies" in the search box and within a minute or so the software grabbed about 25 photos of Westies and placed them in their own album on the iPhone. The transitions, for the most part, are very nice and Fotomatic has added a few more with the latest update.

Overall, I would say that your $4.99 would be better off in the bank until Fotomatic corrects problems with the software. Last night, Fotomatix released version 1.2 that corrected some of the initial problems with the application but now new ones have cropped up. For example, whenever I click on the "bookmark" icon to switch albums, the software takes me out to the home screen of the iPhone. There is a workaround, but the company shouldn't be charging us to be their beta testers. All-in-all, a program with potential, but just not quite there yet.
